SUNY General Education Courses

The following course attributes meet the respective SUNY General Education requirements. These attributes can be seen on the courses located in Self-Service Banner and/or Degree Works. Up until Fall 2023, SUNY was approving general education coursework and beginning Fall 2023 the College is only required to approve general education curriculum. Please note: All students should consult with an advisor for appropriate course selection.

SUNY General Education 2010

Students who were admitted prior to Fall 2023, who are considering transfer to any four-year SUNY institution in any major are required to earn a minimum of three credits in each of seven general education knowledge areas listed in this table, in the process of completing their associate degrees. Students will be required to fulfill this requirement in all ten knowledge areas before receiving a baccalaureate degree. No course listed in the table may be used to fulfill more than one knowledge area.

SUNY General Education 2023

Students who were admitted Fall 2023 or later, who are considering transfer to any four-year SUNY institution in any major are required to earn a minimum of three credits in the four required (*) knowledge and skills areas for all AA-, AS- BA-, and BS- degree programs and will be required to fulfill a minimum of the seven (of ten) knowledge and skills areas before receiving a baccalaureate degree with at least 30 credits of SUNY GE during the first 60 credits of study. No attributes listed in the table may be used to fulfill more than one knowledge area.
